From The New York Times story on the election:“I’m hoping that it gives a message to the country,” said Marlene Connolly, 73, of North Andover, a lifelong Democrat who said she cast her first vote for a Republican on Tuesday. “I think if Massachusetts puts Brown in, it’s a message of ‘that’s enough.’ Let’s stop the giveaways and let’s get jobs going.”I seem to remember a few years ago a man ran for president and in his campaign headquarters was taped this sign, "It's the economy, stupid."What people mostly care about is putting food on their tables and protecting their livelihoods. They can't do any of that without a job (usually). The current president hasn't delivered jobs.

Hi - off topic - but I wanted to license one of your Flickr pics, Endless Vista, for use on the cover of an upcoming book: Best Easy Day Hikes Milwaukee published by Falcon Guides. If you could e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks
The Democrats continue their apparent addiction to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Bad candidate, bad race ... up by 30 points, and then lose. Obama needs some new advisors ,and he'd better recalibrate his programs. What will be terrible is if he pulls a Clinton and thinks he has to move to the right as a consequence of this election. If he does, I'll be looking for a rational alternative in 2012.
Looks like he is, looks like you'll be looking. Good luck.
