Great New Way to Procrastinate

Great New Way to ProcrastinateSince I tend to be all over the place, I'm always looking for a better way to get organized. Mostly I manage by making lists on yellow pads, crossing things off as I do them, and then when the whole page looks too messy, rewriting the remaining items on a clean page. I always thought there should be a better way of doing essentially the same thing electronically. However, most desktop software -- and more recently, iPhone apps -- just seemed too complex for my needs, with so many bells and whistles that keeping track of them all would be a fulltime job itself.

That's why I was so delighted to find Errands, a sleek little free app for the iPhone. Nice little to-do list manager, simple and intuitive. It's also a great way to procrastinate. Click "Put Off Till Tomorrow" a few times and you really feel you accomplished something and got a lot done. That's my kind of to-do list.

Thanks for the tip. The procrastinate button is absolutely essential. I just wish it had a bigger, more satisfying check box. Maybe with a selectable chime as you check off a task, like a big explosion.

Speaking of thoughtful but basic "to-do list" apps, you should check out Zenbe lists. The highlight is that it can sync across devices -- great for grocery lists and shared to-do lists. Errands looks like a nice complement though, because Zenbe is great for lists but not very useful for calendar tracking of tasks with deadlines.

I use Errands to tell me, among other things, to go to bed. (It has told me this evening. "Procrastinate.")

Thanks for the recommendation! I'm new to having a smartphone, and I'd been vaguely wishing for an app like this, while being bowled over by the many different/complex choices in the app store. A direct personal-experience review was just what I needed.
